A Greener Childhood

. . .I remember more countryside, more greenspaces, more woodland, more birdsong, more sightings of wildlife, such as rabbits, foxes and badgers.

Sunny days. Less pollution, less superficial ideas and materialism.

Fun was exploring and adventures outdoors; the new park, or going to a country park – for the first time.

Everyone cared about nature, everyone wanted to see it, talk about it.

The environment is for all ages, all stages of life.

I remember a greener childhood. . .

House Sparrows Trail CAM

Last night I popped my Trail CAM in one of the trees at the bottom of the garden. Below is what it managed to capture this morning 😊

Thanks for visiting! πŸ’š

Day 27 – 30 Days Wild

Was chilling out in the garden, when I heard a Blackbird singing close & loud, it then got closer – so I filmed it πŸ˜†

Thanks for visiting! πŸ’š

Day 25 + 26 – 30 Days Wild

My new toy arrived, a 4K video-recording 20MP photo-taking Trail CAM! πŸ’–

Late in the afternoon I set it up in our new Wildlife Corner of the garden.

This morning I reviewed the footage that was recorded from yesterday afternoon, the evening & from this morning. I am over the moon with what the Trail CAM managed to capture! πŸ’š

Thanks for visiting! ☺️

Day 12 – 30 Days Wild

It has been great for Birdsong lately, hasn’t it? Since lockdown I have heard some great birds from the back garden 🎢

To be honest, I am already familiar with what song belongs to which bird πŸ™‚

In my video I’ve labelled each birdsong / call πŸ‘‡πŸ»

Thanks for visiting! πŸ’š

Day 11 – 30 Days Wild

Today I have decided to share a wild moment from my past 🐦 😊

Thanks for visiting! πŸ’š

Day 2 – 30 Days Wild

Whilst hanging out the washing today, I spotted a Spider that I don’t think I have seen before. It was green with orange legs & black stripes.

You can’t really make out the green body, but hoping somebody can still ID it for me?

Also, in the early evening, I decided to do a drawing, my best mate suggested this particular species πŸ’š

Thanks for visiting! πŸ™‚

Day 1 – 30 Days Wild

It’s that time of year again! To do something nature related & connect with the natural world every day in June, a “Random Act of Wildness” – as suggested by The Wildlife Trusts.

This morning I got up at 4pm to listen to the Dawn Chorus πŸ’š 🐦 🎢 (Then went back to sleep πŸ˜†).

Yesterday I saw a lovely species of Moth in the Garden, for the first time, so I have included a video of that video too! πŸ˜€ πŸ¦‹

In the early evening I went for a lovely walk with my Mom, around the Waseley Hills Country Park 🏞️ ❀️

You can make out the Malvern Hills AONB in the distance 😍

Thanks for visiting! ☺️

Penned Wildlife

For a while I have been meaning to do some drawing or painting, as I haven’t since High School (about 15 years ago).

So yesterday (29/05/2020) I decided I would draw one of my favourite birds of prey, which I completed today (30/05/2020)…

Thanks for visiting 😊 x
